Structure based on Property Value<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2025\/26 Draft Budget also includes key changes to the City\u2019s Tariff structure, as outlined by Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis below, bringing \u201cmeaningful relief to lower income households in particular\u201d, while facilitating to \u201chelp the City to invest in infrastructure and service delivery long into the future\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These changes include tariffs for electricity, water &amp; sanitation, and refuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a 7.96%, Cape Town\u2019s property rates remain the lowest across South Africa, for residential, commercial and industrial property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This increase, says Lewis-Hill is \u201cmainly to fund a massive new roll-out of over 500 additional law-enforcement and metro police officers to every ward in our City\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Rates &amp; Tariff Calculator<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also use the City\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web1.capetown.gov.za\/web1\/rtcalc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">calculator<\/a>&nbsp;to work out an estimate of your monthly rates and
