Two Decades of
Collective Progress
Airport Industria CID was established in 2004 under the City of Cape Town's Special Rating Area (SRA) by-law. Property owners within the defined boundary collectively agreed to pay an additional levy on top of their municipal rates, funds ring-fenced exclusively for supplementary services in the district.
What began as a focused safety and cleansing initiative has grown into a comprehensive urban management programme serving over a thousand businesses and properties. Through transparent governance, independently audited finances, and close collaboration with the City, SAPS, and community partners, the CID has transformed Airport Industria into one of Cape Town's most actively managedindustrial zones.
Today, the CID coordinates four core service pillars, safety and security, cleansing and maintenance, social responsibility, and capital projects, all overseen by an elected board of property owners and municipal representatives.
