Capital Improvements
The CID is currently busy with Capital improvement options, which could include visible amenities which are listed below. Certain Capital Improvements require The City’s approval.
- Replaced street name kerbs, which was funded by the CID
- Installed additional streetlights. Project completed by The City and Eskom
- Repainting road traffic markings. Priorities identified
and tabled to The City. The CID assist with the funding

- Parking holding area for trucks. Priorities identified and tabled to The City
- Additional Traffic STOP signs. Priorities identified and tabled to The City and Traffic Department
- Emergency Exit Plan for area 2, unmade road link. Priorities identified and tabled to The City
- Purchasing a flow bin (water tank) to water trees. CID to fund this project
LED Street Lighting
District-wide replacement of high-pressure sodium lamps with energy-efficient LED fixtures, improving visibility and reducing electricity costs.
Road Renewal
Levy-funded road resurfacing and pothole repair programmes supplement City maintenance, keeping arterial routes in
good condition.
Stormwater Upgrades
Stormwater infrastructure improvements reduce flooding risk
in low-lying areas of the SRA during Cape Town's winter
rainy season.
Signage & Wayfinding
A consistent signage programme improves navigation
through the industrial area for visitors, delivery drivers,
and emergency services.
Access Control
Funded access-control improvements at key entry points reduce vehicle crime and improve overall security across the district.
Transparent Reporting
All capital expenditure is disclosed in annual financial statements and presented to members at the AGM for full accountability.
